About Us

The purpose of the Coquitlam/Moody Ringette Association (CMRA) is to teach, promote, govern and develop the sport of Ringette within the cities of Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore, and Belcarra; to provide a social environment which promotes the ideals of sportsmanship, loyalty, honesty, and respect for players, officials and spectators at all times; to promote excellence in personal development, teamwork and disciplines. CMRA has been in existence since 1985.

Membership is open to children aged 5 years and up and adults. All skill levels are encouraged to play. We aim provide enough player development to support new players of any age. The sport of Ringette is not gender restricted. Ringette is also an accessible sport. We welcome individuals with disabilities and are able to place them in a division suitable for their skills and abilities.

The CMRA association supports the community by developing athletes with ringette skills. We also develop associated skills such as coaching, reffing, managing, and leading. CMRA delivers the following activities to build team and individual ringette skills for all ages.  Participating on a Ringette team also helps build friendships. We are finding that individuals who play ringette together are joining other associations together.

Volunteers contribute to the community through organized fund-raising events and by running multiple skills camps. We were able to recruit national level instructors and bring camp participants in from multiple associations throughout the year. The elected executives volunteer their time to support the association.

CMRA works with Can-Skate, the Lower Mainland Ringette League, BC Ringette Association, the National Ringette League and the Cities of Coquitlam and Port Moody to run Ringette events such as “Try Ringette” and “Bring a Friend.” CMRA also provides guidance and input on various community organizaitons and agencies.
