Volunteer With CMRA

To maintain a fun and effective Ringette Association, we need volunteers!

Below are the descriptions of each role in our organization:

President

  • Supervise the other officers in the execution of their duties
  • Responsible for calling meetings of the directors and act as Chairperson
  • Attend BCRA AGM
  • Attend LMRL Meetings as necessary
  • Assign a LMRL Division Manager
  • Deal with Releases, after review with Executive
  • Lead the Team Formation process
  • Secure player assessors for try-outs (see Player Evaluation & Team Formation Policy)
  • Compose correspondence as necessary
  • Risk Management

VP Operations

  • Attend LMRL Meetings as necessary
  • Coordinate all ice requirements with LMRL for league and exhibition games
  • Coordinate all practice ice with coaches to ensure maximum use of available ice
  • Liaison with Coquitlam Parks & Rec for all ice contracted on behalf of the Association
  • Supervise activities of all Directors involved in on-ice activities (Coordinator of Coaching and Coordinator of Officials)

VP Administration

  • Supervise activities of Directors or Committees involved in Fundraising, Sponsor Development, Growth & Development
  • Liaison for grant applications
  • Ensure managers and trainers are adequately qualified
  • Code of Conducts
  • Criminal Record Checks
  • Coordinate Team Picture Day(s)
  • Organize a Season Closure and Coach Evaluation Feedback Form
  • Attend LMRL Meetings as necessary

Treasurer

  • Keep Financial Records for CMRA compliance
  • Prepare Financial Statements
  • Prepare, monitor and report on municipal/provincial grant fund applications and expenditures
  • Prepare annual budget with input from Executive
  • Issue cheques for CMRA expenditures
  • Deposit revenues
  • Monitor CMRA investments and accounts.
  • Fundraising

    • Plan and run CMRA Fund-raising events
    • Report on income from those events

    Secretary

    • Arrange CMRA general meetings
    • Prepare, distribute, and file minutes
    • Arrange CMRA annual general meeting
    • Complete and file administrative records and documents (ie: society act administration, report on executive contacts, etc.)
    • Have custody of the common seal of CMRA
    • Co-ordinate a newsletter (optional)

    Promotions

    • P.R.
    • Work with VP Operations to organize and publish bring a friend and learn to skate sessions
    • Organize Gym Ringette sessions
    • Organize signage placements
    • Work with VP Administration, and President to prepare grant applications
    • Organize thank you events for donations
    • Organize Coach and Manager Appreciation Event if funds are available
    • Arrange publications on the web site
    • Attend LMRL Promotions Meetings as necessary

    Equipment Coordinator

    • Distribute uniforms at season start
    • Collect uniforms at season end
    • Audit and report on uniform deposits
    • Equipment Administrator
    • Responsible for the purchase and maintenance for all equipment required for on ice use
    • Responsible for the distribution and collection of all equipment
    • Maintain inventory of CMRA equipment
    • Arrange storage for equipment

    Coach Coordinator

    • Organize player evaluation sessions
    • Ensure all coaches are properly qualified and adequately trained
    • Assess and determine head and assistant coaches
    • Plan and arrange coach training
    • Ensure certification compliance
    • Coach issue resolution
    • Organize LMRL coach training sessions if applicable

    Registrar

    • Register and manage memberships on the BCRA site
    • Report on registrations
    • Main contact for all new members
    • Main contact for promotion campaigns that involve registration (ie: power skating, introductory programs, etc.)
    • Assist with recruiting activities
    • Handle funding allocations towards registrations
    • Handle reimbursements for registrations

    Referee in Chief

    • Schedule referees for all home games
    • Develop and assess referees
    • Ensure adequate number of qualified referees for senior division games
    • Plan and arrange referee training
    • Ensure referee certification compliance
    • Communicate referee rates, schedule, and levels to Coaches and Managers
    • Attend LMRL meetings called for Referee in Chief
    • Organize LMRL referee training sessions if applicable

    Player Development

    • Work with VP Operations to organize and publish power skating, goalie clinics, and other sessions
    • Organize any on-ice practice player development sessions with Coach approval.
